I want to do - Part 4 of Micro Moments and Digital Marketing |

Have you had a good break or were you jammed to the rafters with guests? Whatever it was, we hope it was everything you planned. Talking of planning, this the last in our short series of I want to Moments or Micro Moments with Mary & Jim, our travellers from Birmingham planning a short break in Scotland. If you have still to read the first articles, you can find them here Mary & Jim have booked the accommodation, travel and got a rough plan of how they want to spend their vacation. They’ve done all their research in micro bursts of activity using Marys’ Smartphone. You know how it goes: Jim – “Mary, I want to eat out when we are in Dumfries. Are there any good pubs with food?” Mary checks her phone by typing in “Pub Grub in Dumfries” and up pops immediately three venues with plenty stars and recommendations with quick info on how to book. They’ll have plenty choice on holiday – will your venue come up tops? Remember that Mary and Jim are also keen ramblers. Mary checks out potential walks and full marks to D&G Online who come up trumps in the mobile search and have a very easy to navigate mobile website. Does your local Destination organisation perform this well? But what if it is raining – after all it is Scotland. Mary loves books and wants to know more about Wigtown which is nearby and famous for books. Sadly the website doesn’t render easily onto a mobile and Mary gets fed up trying to find out more information. She probably won’t make a trip to Wigtown a top priority now as they only have a short time. Oh dear is this like your locality? Indeed Jims’ hobby of aviation will probably win out as they can find all the info they want quickly on the mobile – in a micro burst. Top marks again to Dumfries Aviation Museum for being up to the mark but a mobile specific site rather than a responsive will help them stay at the top. Remember that we are rapidly becoming micro burst surfers and want information delivered in mere seconds onto our hand held devices. If it is not, we will move on. Why not take a few moments over the winter months and check out your visitors potential Micro Tourism Moments and make sure you are up to the mark with multi device ready websites. If you need any help, we’re always happy to have a no obligation chat. |
